From October 23 to 25, 2024, Halu Oleo University in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, will host the highly anticipated Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo P2MW XV 2024. This event aims to bring together student entrepreneurs from across Indonesia, offering a platform to showcase not only creative and innovative products but also to strengthen collaboration between young entrepreneurs and various stakeholders.
The KMI Expo XV 2024 is a prestigious event attended by students, universities, mentors, and practitioners involved in the Pembinaan Mahasiswa Wirausaha (P2MW) program. This year’s theme, "Wirausaha Rakyat Merdeka: Membangun Kolaborasi, Mengukir Masa Depan Indonesia" ("Empowering People's Entrepreneurship: Building Collaboration, Shaping Indonesia's Future"), reflects the spirit of enhancing the role of student entrepreneurs in driving Indonesia’s economic progress through wider collaboration.
At least four teams from the Institute of Technology Kalimantan (ITK) have successfully passed the selection process and will join the event, presenting their creative business products. With a focus on community empowerment and strengthening the people's economy, KMI Expo XV 2024 is not just an exhibition of products but also a platform to encourage entrepreneurship among students.
One of the main goals of this event is to provide a platform for students to introduce and promote their business products to the broader public. The exposure at KMI Expo allows student products to attract attention from various stakeholders, including investors, entrepreneurs, and partners who can help expand their businesses.
The KMI Expo also serves as a communication forum for entrepreneurship managers at universities to engage with stakeholders, including government, educational institutions, and the private sector. The aim is to create a more sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports inclusive economic growth.
With the theme "Wirausaha Rakyat Merdeka," KMI Expo XV 2024 carries a deeper significance. It is not just about advancing the individual progress of student entrepreneurs, but also about strengthening Indonesia’s overall economic foundation. Through collaboration among students, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, the event aims to create more business opportunities, accelerate innovation, and ultimately enhance the nation's economic competitiveness.
