Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) officially inaugurated the Integrated Laboratory II Building (Labter II) at ITK Integrated Laboratory I. The inauguration was led directly by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., as part of a strategic agenda to strengthen higher education development in Kalimantan.
The Integrated Laboratory II building was constructed through funding from the State Sharia Securities (SBSN) scheme as a form of government support in strengthening higher education infrastructure, particularly for the development of learning and research facilities at ITK.
Prior to the inauguration ceremony, the commemorative plaque had previously been initialed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. During the event, the plaque signing was also attended by Dr. Ir. Hetifah Sjaifudian and the Rector of ITK, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc.
The series of activities began with opening remarks, followed by a sharing session, a presentation on ITK’s development progress, and the official inauguration of Integrated Laboratory II as a symbol of strengthening education, research, and innovation ecosystems at ITK.
Rector of ITK, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc., stated that the presence of Labter II is expected to support the improvement of learning quality, research development, and academic-industry collaboration, particularly in strengthening ITK’s strategic role as a supporting university for Indonesia’s new capital city (IKN).
Through the spirit of ITK Berdampak, the development of this facility represents ITK’s concrete commitment to creating a modern, adaptive, and innovation-oriented higher education environment that contributes to the advancement of Indonesia’s human resources and technological development.
