Balikpapan – The world of architecture is once again energized with the return of ARCTION (Architecture Exhibition), an exhibition showcasing the works of architecture students from the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK). This event took place at the Auditorium on the 3rd Floor of the Integrated Laboratory Building at ITK on December 22-23, 2024. This year, ARCTION adopted the inspiring theme "Where to Fly?: ARCTION," inspired by the popular animated film Up.

ARCTION is not just an ordinary exhibition. It serves as a platform of appreciation for students who have worked hard and created throughout the semester. It offers them a golden opportunity to showcase their works, express ideas, and share architectural visions with a broader audience.

The selection of the theme "Where to Fly?: ARCTION" is particularly intriguing. Inspired by Up, this theme carries a powerful metaphor about courage, dreams, and journeys. The balloons that lift the house in the film become symbols of the spirit to overcome boundaries and pursue goals, even in the face of uncertainty.

This theme is highly relevant to the journey of every architecture student. The process of designing and working on architectural projects is not instant; it requires perseverance, dedication, and hard work to produce quality results. ARCTION provides a platform for these students to "fly" with their creations, express their vision, and share their dreams with visitors.

ARCTION is more than just a platform for displaying works. It is a manifestation of dreams realized through hard work. The exhibition encourages the mindset that every dream, no matter how big or small, can be achieved through effort and dedication.

The event attracted a wide range of attendees, including high school students from SMA/SMK/MA in Balikpapan, ITK academics, professionals in the field of architecture, and students from other universities in East Kalimantan. The participation of diverse groups created synergy and enriched discussions about the world of architecture.

The presence of ARCTION is expected to have a positive impact on the development of architecture in East Kalimantan. This exhibition serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas, inspiration, and innovation in architecture. Moreover, ARCTION plays a significant role in motivating younger generations to contribute to the development of better environments through innovative and sustainable architectural works.

With the spirit of "Where to Fly?: ARCTION," the architecture students of ITK have proven that dreams can be achieved through hard work and dedication. May ARCTION continue to be a source of inspiration and innovation for the future of architecture.
