Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), in collaboration with PT PLN Nusantara Power, held a Socialization on the Security Management System of PLTU Teluk Balikpapan at the Auditorium of Building A, ITK. The event was attended by students, education personnel, and lecturers as part of an effort to broaden the academic community’s understanding of security management in vital facilities within the electricity sector.

The activity served as an educational forum to introduce the security governance implemented at PLTU Teluk Balikpapan. Through this socialization, participants gained insights into basic security principles, preparedness, cross-sector coordination, and the importance of risk mitigation in supporting the smooth operation of power generation facilities.

The event began with participant registration, followed by the opening by the master of ceremonies, the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, and a prayer. The program continued with remarks from Ir. Khakim Ghozali, M.MT., Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs of ITK. In his remarks, the event was highlighted as an important momentum to strengthen synergy between higher education institutions and industry, particularly in building awareness of security, safety, and the management of strategic facilities.

As a symbol of institutional collaboration, the event also included a plaque presentation and documentation session between representatives of PT PLN Nusantara Power and Institut Teknologi Kalimantan. This moment reflected the partnership between higher education and the industrial sector in supporting the improvement of energy security literacy.

The main material was delivered by Wahyu Robiyanur from PT PLN Nusantara Power. In his presentation, participants were introduced to the security management system of PLTU Teluk Balikpapan, including coordination flows, monitoring aspects, and the important role of human resources in maintaining the security of vital electricity infrastructure.

The event also featured Mr. Saleh from Babinsa Kariangau, who delivered a short presentation on the role of territorial units in supporting the security of areas surrounding strategic facilities. His presence reinforced the understanding that security management is not only the responsibility of the company, but also requires coordination with various stakeholders in the surrounding area.

The program continued with the second material session, followed by a question-and-answer session and discussion. Participants had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers regarding security practices, field challenges, and forms of collaboration that can support the security of energy industrial areas.

Through this activity, ITK hopes that students, lecturers, and education personnel can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the importance of security management systems in the electricity sector. This socialization also reflects ITK’s commitment to providing learning experiences that are relevant to industry needs while strengthening collaboration with strategic partners.
