On Monday, August 13, 2024, the Research Building of ITS in Surabaya hosted the prestigious International Conference on Sustainable Semiconductor Manufacturing. The conference, opened by ITS Rector, Dr. Bambang Pramujati, Ph.D., was attended by approximately 200 participants from around the world. This event served as an important platform for sharing knowledge and exploring collaboration opportunities in semiconductor technology.
One of the highlights of the conference was the presence of ITK Rector, Prof. Dr. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc., accompanied by Kharis Sugiarto, S.ST., M.T., a lecturer in Electrical Engineering, who participated in panel discussions and crucial meetings with international delegates. Prof. Dr. Agus Rubiyanto delivered an in-depth presentation on ITK's strategic role in the development of the Nusantara Capital City, known for its Smart and Forest City concept. In his explanation, he emphasized ITK's role in supporting green and sustainable initiatives in the region and how semiconductor technology can contribute to achieving these goals.
The conference also served as a meeting point between ITK Rector and several key figures in the academic and semiconductor industry. Among them were Prof. J.C. Liu, Ph.D., Vice President of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), and prominent speakers such as Prof. Taufik from California Polytechnic, Prof. Hongbin Yu from Arizona State University, and Prof. Ya Fen Wang from Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan. The discussions during the event provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in sustainable semiconductor manufacturing.
During the meetings, participants delved into various topics related to innovations in semiconductor technology, including efforts to improve efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing processes. The collaboration between ITK, ITS, and NTUST was highlighted as a significant agenda, with hopes of strengthening the global semiconductor technology ecosystem.
This conference marked an important step in enhancing international relationships in technology and making a significant contribution to global efforts in developing more sustainable technologies. With support from various parties, including leading educational and research institutions, it is hoped that the outcomes of this conference will translate into tangible actions supporting the advancement of semiconductor technology in the future.
