PHOTON 2024 took place on November 16-17, 2024, at the Integrated Laboratory of the Institute of Technology Kalimantan (ITK). Physics: The Olympiad And Events (PHOTON) is an annual event organized by the Physics Study Program of ITK. It aims to provide a platform for high school students (or equivalent) to develop their potential, interests, and talents in the fields of science and technology. With various exciting competitions and activities, this festival is not only a competition but also an opportunity for collaboration, learning, and innovation.
This year's theme, "Mangaphycation", combines elements of physics with creative worlds, particularly manga and anime. The theme aims to encourage participants to think creatively, explore physics concepts in a fun and engaging way, and inspire the younger generation to study science through mediums that are close to their everyday lives. By blending physics with popular culture, PHOTON 2024 encourages participants to think outside the box and engage with science in a new and exciting way.
PHOTON 2024 features a series of events that combine intellectual challenges with hands-on fun. One of the main highlights of PHOTON is the Olimpiade Fisika ITK (OFI), where participants will have the chance to test their knowledge and skills in physics, from basic principles to more advanced concepts. The competition will present fascinating problems that challenge participants' analytical thinking and creativity in solving physics-related issues.
PHOTON 2024 is expected to be more than just a festival to sharpen participants' scientific skills. It is also an event that will inspire them to delve deeper into the world of science and technology, fostering a spirit of continuous innovation. Through these engaging activities, PHOTON aims to spark creativity and curiosity, encouraging the next generation to pursue science and technology with passion and enthusiasm.
This year’s festival provides an invaluable opportunity for high school students to enhance their problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking skills in a fun and challenging environment. With the support of ITK’s Physics Study Program students, participants will be guided throughout the event, ensuring an enriching experience that goes beyond the competition itself.
